| Northern Water Tribe
The Grand Norther Water Tribe is protected by the Moon and Ocean Spirits Tui and La in the Spirit Oasis. It exists in the North Pole and is extrmely strict on gender roles.

| Southern Water Tribe
Located in the South Pole, the Southern Water Tribe's population diminishes each year by Fire Nation Raids. There are few water benders left and those left will soon be captured or killed.

| Foggy Swamp Tribe
The Foggy Swamp Tribe occupies a swamp in the Earth Kingdom. Instead of worshipping the Moon and Ocean Spirits, they worship the Swamp itself, and the giant tree in the center of it, believing that the Swamp is what gives them life and power.

| Northern Air Temple
The Northern Air Temple has been abandoned since the genocide of its people. It is the most northern temple and seems to have most of the Air Nomand's history.

Inhabited by a Guru, this is where Sky Bison were raised. It is built on three moutains instead of one.

| Western Air Temple
The most unique of the four Temples. It hangs off the side of a cliff with many secret passages.

| Southern Air Temple
Birthplace of the missing Avatar Aang. This temple is most like the Northern Temple in that it is on one moutian. Like the three temples, it is deserted.

| Ba Sing Se
The Capital of the Earth Kingdom is surrounded by a great wall that has never been breached. It is where thousands of Earth Kingdom citizens and refugees live as well as the Earth King. The Dai Li also resides here.

| Omashu
Situated on a moutain surrounding an enormous gordge, Omashu is ruled by the slightly crazy and ancient King Bumi. It's main industry is creating weapons for the war effort.

Birthplace of Avatar Kiyoshi and home to the Kiyoshi warriors (an all female group). The island is neutral in the war and exists off the southern coast of the Earth Kingdom.
